There is still so much to be done in the work started some two thousand years ago on the sandy shores of the Sea of Galilee. From the very beginning, Jesus took His ministry to the people who found themselves living in the margins of mainstream Judaism. Jesus met people at the point of their need, and ministered to them there. He did not have to be in the Temple or a synagogue to touch peoples lives. The Spirit was in Him, and guided Him wherever He went. He preached His message of repentance and salvation in the fields and the streets. He entered the homes of those the society judged as "unclean". He shattered the religious conventions of the day simply to reach out to the hopeless and desperate who reached out to Him. Jesus offered a message of hope and abundant life to all that would "have an ear to hear." His actions condemned Him, but His message transcends time. It is just as real today as it was in the early days of the Apostolic Church. It is the message of the ages. It is the message of life eternal.
